Lakes and Rivers in Southern Sawyer County

Southern Sawyer County is kind of the "forgotten" area with little to no promotion of tourism as it relates to the lakes and trails that exist in the area.  Southern Sawyer County, home to the Tuscobia State Trail, Flambeau River State Forest, and the Chippewa Flowage - to name a few.  These are some of the most sought out locations for recreation in northern Wisconsin.  

Southern Sawyer County is abundant in lakes and rivers for fishing, water sports, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, pontooning, or just the lazy day float down a river on a tube.  Southern Sawyer County does have more that are less known, and we would like to share those with you, and the maps to reach those locations.  

Chippewa Flowage

The Chippewa Flowage or Lake Chippewa as some have called it, is a substantially large body of water with tons of bogs, and untouched shoreline which makes it a great lake for fishing.  Be careful, there are stories of getting lost out on the lake due to the complexity of the all of the smaller lakes and streams that combined when the lake was dammed up some years back.
