The Flambeau Forest Inn was voted to have the Best Old Fashioned in Southern Sawyer County. The Flambeau Forest Inn, a restaurant located in Winter Wisconsin tucked away in the Flambeau River State Forest has won the prestigious award of having the Best Old Fashioned.

The Old Fashioned is considered the official drink of Wisconsin, and most commonly associated with supper clubs, however, northern Wisconsin is known to have some of the best Old Fashioned drinks anywhere in the United States.

Explore Southern Sawyer County held a contest in the month of October to determine who would hold the title of "Best Old Fashioned" in Southern Sawyer County.

As of October 31, 2023 at 11:59PM, the Flambeau Forest Inn held 41% of the total votes, in a poll ran on the Explore Southern Sawyer County website.

Tied for second place, you could find Shady Nook Resort (New Post, WI), and The Buckhorn Bar (Exeland WI).

The winner of the competition receives a glass etched plaque with the title of "Best Old Fashioned" and will receive recognition in local, regional and national press.
